Our apprenticeship position is available to anyone who has less than one year of experience but wants to start a career in the HVAC industry. No experience is required for this position; however, we do ask candidates to take a career skills test to be considered. An apprenticeship is a full time, paid position and offers benefits after the probationary period. A basic knowledge of construction and basic mechanical aptitude is required. Candidates will be asked to demonstrate basic power tool knowledge, safety precautions and usage before entering the program. Apprentice employees will work under a Lead Installer to gain hands on knowledge and experience in the trade. Upon successful completion of the program, an apprentice will become an installer or service technician and have the opportunity to work into a lead installer position.
An installer has a minimum of 6 months of HVAC experience and a minimum of 2 months of training under a Premier Air Lead Installer. Our installers take pride in their own projects but also assist lead installers on bigger projects. We offer our installers opportunities for training and career advancement to help them reach their personal, professional and financial goals.
A lead installer has a minimum of one year as a Premier Air Installer and a strong grasp of HVAC system design. A lead installer will be able to order all the required materials and design a home’s HVAC system based on heat load calculations. A commercial lead installer will be able to read and follow mechanical plans. A lead installer will also provide training and guidance to installers and apprentices. A lead installer is provided with a company vehicle.
A service technician must have a minimum of one year of experience in the service field. Opportunities for additional training and support for career advancement are available. A service technician is provided with a company vehicle. Our service technicians also have a sales role which also allows them to earn bonus commissions on certain sales. We have a rapidly growing service department and would love to add more technicians to our team.
We offer summer employment to students at Montana State University. We have found this to be a very popular option for students in the mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology programs to gain hands on experience in the field.
